Contest: Organized or Messy Desk - Which is Better?

Organized desk looks always better than a messy desk as long as we are discussing on appearance point of view. But, if we will see this from working environment perspective then it will have some different angle.
I have seen many genius and productive guys always keep their desks cluttered while working. In one way it means they do not like to pay their attention towards keeping the desk neat and clean which will distract them from the focus of their objective of the task or job to be done in time. This attitude is good as long as the worker has only his/her tasks with computer on the desk and nothing else. But, if you will think of a person who has to enter data into the computer system from some different hard copy of files, it won’t be productive and good way to work in a messy environment. Because, the person has to spend more time in searching for the right file if it is not already organized than to enter data into the system.

Moreover, organized/messy desks concept depends on the personality of the character to be considered. For a software developer the messy desk is alright but for a judge who is supposed to take decision this is not at all entertained. Otherwise, there are more chances that the judgment would be inappropriate.
As per my view, I always like an organized desk as my mind is affected by the surroundings. If everything around me is ordered and well arranged then my productivity increases to a level of double. I believe my efficiency is directly proportional to the freshness and well ordered environment.
